AP Music Theory 3rd 9-Weeks Composition Assignment

This composition must be at least 64 measures long and have a title (not “comp” or “my comp”, etc.). Your name must be TYPED in as the composer. Come up with a "composer's pen name" if you wish! Repeats do NOT count as added measures.

It must be composed using Finale, Sibelius, Noteworthy, or another approved Music-Notation software. Your name must be typed in using the software. Nothing is to be hand-written on this comp (except the analysis and form!). It may be written for any combination of instruments/voices. If you choose to compose for voice (solo or choir) it must have words. If the words are not original, you must credit the author. ***

Must include:
No 1/4, 2/4, 3/8 time.
FORM!!! (any form but strophic is great!!!)
A discernable MELODY in each section.
Diatonic chords, all inversions, seventh chords, in inversion...
NCT’s, use as you please
Chromatic AND Diatonic chords
Modulation(s)
Sequences!!!!

How to analyze:
Analyze all chords and modulations (no need to analyze all NCT's...!!!)
Write the name of the form at the top of the page
Label the large A B C, etc sections
Label the small a, b, c, etc phrases
Label any coda or codetta or extension or cadenza or intro or retransition

***note: if you are going to use words, please make the syllables match the notes you wish to sing. Melismatic material should be displayed with a slur.***
