Uniform Drive!!!
The Leon High School Band is currently raising money to replace the band uniforms we have worn since 1988. We hope to raise $58,000 in our campaign, and we are seeking donations from the past and present and supporters of Leon High School. We are fortunate to have many talented students in our program, and our band frequently represents our community in band festivals across the state and the nation. The band needs to purchase 160 uniforms at a cost of approximately $385 each. We are asking individuals to help by donating one uniform to our program. Any help you are able to give would be greatly appreciated.
Our uniforms have served their purpose and many are now completely unusable. Buttons are broken, seems are falling apart, and pants are consistently ripping. It has become a great task every fall to fit a band member with the appropriate uniform and thus it has been determined that this is a vital need in our program. Chris Ball, our uniform company contact and a former Leon Band Director, will be assisting in recreating our current uniform based on cost, fabric choices and adaptability to the function of our marching band today.
The Leon High School Band consists of two concert bands, a jazz band, percussion ensembles, many student-led ensembles, and the Marching Redcoats. The Symphonic Band has been awarded superior ratings at many district and regional music festivals and the Marching Redcoats have earned a superior rating for the past 59 straight years. Leon’s band, chorus, and drama students perform a full Broadway musical each summer and are continuing to push our arts programs to the next level.
