CAPITAL SINGERS 24-25 AUDITIONS

AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD the week of MAY 6th in the Leon Chorus room.

To audition:

  1. Get a contract (in the chorus room or here: Caps Contract 24-25)
  2. fill out the form located this form – you’ll upload your signed contract in this Google form, as well as bring it with you to your audition.
  3. Sign up for a time to audition. Signups are on the practice room door in the chorus room. Do not sign up for a time until you are ready to fill out the online form and turn in your contract.

The audition consists of a written test (taken in chorus class) and a vocal audition.

The Capital Singers written test will include:

  1. Intervals (aural)
  2. Triads (aural)
  3. Choose which melody is played when shown 2-3 from which to choose
  4. Choose which rhythm is played when shown 2-3 from which to choose
  5. Key Signatures (major and minor)
  6. Music vocabulary/symbols

The Capital Singers vocal audition will include:

      1. Range Test
      2. Singing a portion of a song (from in class or private voice – whichever the student chooses)
      3. Pitch matching test
      4. Sightreading (like the Allstate Level 1 and 2)
